The Syrian minister of petroleum and mineral resources paid a visit to the 13th Iran Plast International Exhibition here in Tehran on Wednesday.
During the visit Ali Soleiman Ghanem said that the Islamic Republic of Iran was supporting Syria as the leading allied country to Damascus.
“We move forward in accordance with cooperation with Iran,” he said, adding that Syria enjoyed a lot of cooperation with Iranian friends.
The Syrian official said Iran and Syria had many cooperation agreements, adding Syria was seeking to address its needs by cooperation with Iran.
Ghanem, who also met with Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh on Tuesday in Tehran, further added that the achievements of Iran’s petrochemical industry proved that the sanctions not only had no bad effect on the industry in Iran, but also had brought about some positive outcome for the sector.
“The sanctions caused a rapid growth in Iranian industries,” he said.
The 13th Iran Plast international exhibition began on Sunday, September 22 and rounds up on September 25 at Tehran’s permanent fairgrounds.
